How does it look right after a stretch mark inkless or camouflage tattoo?
The area looks pink to red and inflamed immediately afterward, and can feel like a sunburn for a few days with mild irritation. Swelling usually settles by the next day. Redness then turns brown as the skin moves through the proliferative stage of healing, and that brownness stays for about four to six weeks before it starts to fade.
Which stretch marks are the best candidates for camouflage tattoo?
White, flat stretch marks with no color are the best candidates for camouflage tattoo. Marks with discoloration, such as silver, purple, brown, or red, and marks already close to your surrounding skin tone, do better with the inkless method using growth factor serum instead of pigment.
How old does a scar need to be before treatment?
Scars have to be mature enough to work on. Every scar is different, but Gina prefers to start ten months to a year after surgery, or later, if scar reduction is being done first to flatten the tissue before any pigment is used.
What is the downtime for inkless tattoo or scar reduction?
Keep the treated area dry for two days and avoid sweating or working out for two days. No sauna, pool, hot yoga, or baths for two weeks, and no sun exposure until fully healed.
What is the downtime for camouflage tattoo using pigments?
Keep the area dry for five days and avoid sweating or working out for two days. No sauna, pool, hot yoga, or baths for two weeks, and no sun exposure until fully healed. In some cases you go home with Tegaderm protecting the area for five days. Detailed aftercare is walked through with you in person.
What happens if I get tanned after scar camouflage?
UV light is the biggest enemy of scar tissue. Sun exposure can make it thicker and darker, so sunscreen every few hours is essential, along with body makeup as an extra layer and sun protective clothing if you will be out for long stretches.
How long does scalp micropigmentation last?
SMP typically lasts many years with good care and strong sunscreen. For a healthy client with a normal immune system, color usually holds its original vibrancy for roughly four to six years, with slow fading up to eight years. Touch-ups cost less per session than the original treatment.
What can I expect after an SMP session?
The treated scalp is red for about 24 hours, and depending on your skin tone the pigment looks darker for up to seven days. Pigment-filled scabs then flake away over three to ten days and the color softens. After about a month the pigment sets and fading is nearly non-existent.
Can an areola scar be camouflaged with the skin tone around the areola?
For the most natural result, areola scars are camouflaged to match the color of the areola rather than the skin around it. The goal is a natural look that does not increase the size, unless the scars are unusually thick. Size and design are discussed before the procedure.
Is 3D areola tattooing covered by medical insurance?
Under the Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act, your insurance may cover part of the cost of 3D areola tattooing. The studio provides an invoice and receipt for you to submit for reimbursement.
Scar tension is limiting my jaw mobility. Can anything be done?
Scar tissue tension often limits mobility after facelift surgery. The scar reduction technique used here is also called scar relaxation, because needling relaxes the tissue and clients frequently regain movement.
I'm early post-surgery. What can I do in the meantime?
Silicone sheets or cream are generally recommended from one to two months post-op, and topical products with retinol and melanin inhibitors from three to four months post-op. Check with your surgeon for guidance specific to your scar.
I have post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Should I be worried?
Let the studio know in advance. Gina can recommend pre-care that suppresses melanin activity before your appointment, along with the aftercare needed to prevent it.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Elevate You Studio partners with Cherry, a point-of-sale financing provider, for monthly installments. Approval takes about 60 seconds and can cover up to $10,000. Afterpay, Klarna, and PayPal are also accepted.
