Our story
It started as a job. It became a purpose.
In 2016 Gina Lee was a single mother looking for work that could support her family. She trained in permanent makeup, then found paramedical tattooing, and everything changed the first time a client cried at seeing her scar disappear into her skin.
Nine years on, Gina has completed nearly 25 certification courses and works exclusively with compromised skin. Scar tissue does not accept pigment the way healthy skin does, and skin tones vary far more than most pigment charts allow for, so the work demands an understanding of skin science and tissue physiology alongside artistry.
That depth is why 16 plastic surgeons and dermatologists consult with her on scars, why her work has been featured on CBS News and KTLA 5, and why she now teaches the technique to other artists through Elevate You Academy.
What has not changed is the reason. Clients arrive after years of covering an area, choosing clothes around it, or stepping out of photos. The goal is not perfection. It is getting to the point where you stop thinking about it, and feel at home in your own skin again.
What you can expect
- An honest answer. If you are not a candidate yet, or ever, you will be told, along with what to do in the meantime.
- Every skin tone. Pigment is custom matched and patch tested rather than picked from a shade card.
- A private studio. One client at a time, in a quiet room in South Pasadena.
- Real aftercare. Healing is most of the result, so it is walked through in person at every visit.
